Beetroot Halwa recipe is one of the simplest and easiest halwa which could be prepared without much effort. For the beginners, I would suggest you to start with this beet root halwa to learn cooking since this is a hassle free recipe. Here, we mix sugar with boiling beetroot and enrich the halwa by adding ghee and some cashews. It is almost similar to that of Carrot Halwa recipe but of course, there is a difference in taste. Since the beetroots are bright in color the halwa prepared out of it looks very attractive and catchy.

How To Prepare Beetroot Halwa.
The time taken to prepare this halwa / dessert is around 20 minutes and the quantity mentioned here is enough for 2 servings.
Ingredients For Beetroot Halwa.
- Beetroot - 1 big sized.
- Milk - 1 / 2 cup.
- Milkmaid - 1 / 2 cup.
- Sugar - 3 tbsp.
- Cardamom powder -1 tsp.
- Ghee - 2 tbsp.
- Cashew nuts - 3 tbsp.
- Salt - a very small pinch.
Method To Make Beetroot Halwa.
- Peel the outer covering of the beetroot and grate it into fine pieces.
- Heat a non stick pan with grated beetroot in it.
- Add milk and boil the beetroot mixture till the milk gets evaporated completely.
- Now add sugar and lower the flame.
- Cook until the beetroot turns slightly sticky.
- Add milkmaid, cardamom powder and a very small pinch of salt.
- Heat another small pan with 1 tbsp of ghee in it.
- Add broken cashews.
- Switch off the flame when the cashews turns golden colour,
- Transfer the fried cashews to the boiling beetroot mixture.
- Finally add ghee and mix it well.

- You can opt for kova in place of milkmaid for a different taste.
- If you opt for adding kova, then increase the quantity of sugar by 2 tbsp.
- You can increase the quantity of ghee as per your taste. The more the ghee, richer is the halwa.
- In this recipe I have added only cashews but you can add raisins and pista too.
