Aloo tikki recipe is one of the delectable chaat recipe that is loved and relished by all the age groups in the street food section. Basically, aloo is such a versatile dish and it acts as a good binding agent, hence it is found in most of the starters recipes. For this alu tikki we mix potatoes with few spices and then shallow fry it. Once your aloo tikki is ready in hand, you can prepare variety of snacks out of it like raagda patties, burger and so on. You can even prepare stuffed aloo ki tikki which I have already posted in my earlier posts where aloo patties are prepared and stuffed with green peas.

How To Prepare Aloo Tikki Recipe / Potato Patties.
The time taken to prepare Aloo Tikki is around 1 hour and the quantity mentioned here is enough for 4 servings.
Aloo Ki Tikki Ingredients.
- Potatoes / aloo - 3 big sized.
- Coriander leaves - 4 strings.
- Bread - 3.
- Salt - as required.
- Oi l- for shallow frying.
- Ginger - 1 / 2 inch.
- Chaat masala - 1 / 2 tsp.
- Garam masala - 1 / 2 tsp.
- Red chilli powder - 1 tbsp.
- Fresh green peas - 1/ 4 cup.
Method To Make AlooTikki.
- Boil the potatoes and mash it well when it is completely cooled.
- Add the choppod coriander leaves and finely grated ginger into it.
- Now add salt, red chilli powder, chaat masala powder, and garam masala powder into it.
- Dip the bread pieces in water just for a second, squeeze the water completely and mix it with the aloo mixture.
- Crush the green peas in a mixer jar and mix it with the mashed aloo.
- Mix all the ingredients and form round balls of egg sized and slightly flatten it with your palm.
- Heat a griddle or a tawa with 6 tbsp of oil in it.
- Now shallow fry both the sides till it is crisp and firm
- Transfer these tikkis on to the serving plates.
Your crispy and yummy Aloo Tikki is ready to be served!!!

- Always mash aloo when it is completely cooled.
- If there is any moisture content left in the aloo mixture before frying, then you may dip it in the bread crumbs before frying the cutlet.
- You may add 1 / 2 tsp lemon juice for a tangy taste.
- You may add chilli powder as per your taste.
- Always roast these tikkis in low to medium flame for a crisp aloo tikkis.
- Relish these aloo tikkis with Sweet chutney or with tomato sauce.
