Uddina Hittu Gojju Recipe.
This is one of the simplest side dish and the time taken to prepare it is around 10 minutes. The quantity mentioned here is enough for 3 servings.
Uddina Hittu Gojju Ingredients.
- Urad dal flour ( black gram flour ) - 2 tbsp.
- Asafoetida - A small pepper corn sized.
For seasoning:
- Red chilli ( byadige ) - 1.
Method To Make Udnittu Gojju.
- Chop green chillis, onions and ginger into small pieces.
- Take a deep sized bowl and add the chopped green chiilis, ginger and onions into it.
- Add salt, asafoetida and 1 / 2 tsp of oil into the bowl.
- Mix it and squeeze the mixture well with your hands.
- Now add curds and urad dal powder into the bowl.
- Dilute the gojju by adding water as per your choice.
- Heat a small pan for the seasoning.
- Add coconut oil, broken red chilli, mustard seeds, urad dal and curry leaves into it.
- When the ingredients starts spluttering, transfer the seasoning into the bowl and mix it well.
Your spicy and tasty uddina hittu gojju is ready to be served!!!

- Uddina hittu gojju should be in a dropping consistency as that of urad dal dosa batter ( Plain Dosa Batter ).
- Adding chopped onions are optional.
- For this particular udupi style recipe, it is very vital that you have to always season it with coconut oil and there is no compromise in that matter.
- Increase the quantity of chopped green chillis if you want a more spicier taste.
