Atte Ka Halwa - Wheat Flour Dessert Recipe

Atte ka halwa is one of the easiest types of halwas that can be prepared in nick of time. It is quite rich in taste because of the ghee that has been added to it. You can preserve this halwa for around 2 days in the refrigerator. Here the halwa is prepared using the wheat flour with ghee and suger in proportionate quantities.

How To Prepare Atte Ka Halwa.

The time taken to Prepare this halwa is only around 10 minutes and the ingredients mentioned is here is enough for 4 servings.


Ingredients For Wheat Flour Halwa.


  • Wheat flour - 1 cup.
  • Sugar - 1 cup.
  • Ghee - 3 / 4 cup.
  • Cardamom powder - 1 tsp.
  • Salt - a pinch.
  • Water - 1 cup.
  • Cashew Nut - 10 pieces.


Method To Make Wheat flour Halwa.


  • Heat a nonstick Kadai or a deep pan with ghee in it.
  • Meanwhile heat water in another pan.
  • When that pan gets heated add chopped cashews.
  • Fry and add the wheat flour into it. Fry in medium flame for around 3 minutes.
  • Now add the hot water into the flour pan and stir well so that any lumps may not be formed.
  • When the water gets fully absorbed, add sugar and mix well.
  • Keep stirring for around 3 minutes till the sugar melts completely and wait for the mixture to leave the side of the pan.
  • Finally add a pinch of salt and cardamom powder. Mix well and switch off the flame.

Your rich and quick wheat flour halwa is ready to be served.!!!

  1. Adding salt is optional but it gives a unique taste.
  2. You can even increase the ghee up to 1 cup for a more richer taste.
  3. Saffron can be dipped in hot milk and can be added.
  4. Adding hot water to the flour saves time and the halwa can be prepared more quickly.
