Tomato omelette is a traditional south Indian recipe and it is a delicious way to start your day. It is a purely vegetarian dish prepared without using any egg. Here I have used chick flour ( besan ) as a main ingredient. It tastes best when it is hot and the omelettes are indeed very fluffy to look at.

How To Prepare Tomato Omelette.
If there is a dish that you should be preparing when time is very scarce, then this tomato omelette should be it since it hardly takes around 15 minutes to prepare.Ingredients For Tomato Omelette.
- Chick flour ( besan ) -1 cup.
- Maida ( all purpose flour ) - 1/2 cup.
- Chiroti Rawa ( small variety of semolina ) - 2 tbsp.
- Rice flour - 1/2 tbsp.
- Red chilli powder - 1 tsp.
- Green chilli - 3
- Coriander leaves - 3 sprigs.
- Onion - 2.
- Tomato - 3 or 4.
- Ginger - a small piece.
- Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp.
- Salt - as required.
- Butter or oil - 2 tbsp.
- Turmeric - 1 tsp.
Method To Make Tomato Omelette.
- Take a big mixing bowl.
- Add chick flour, maida, rawa, rice flour, salt and enough water to form a batter.
- Now add chopped onions, tomatoes, green chillies, ginger, coriander leaves, turmeric powder,and garam masala powder and mix well.
- Heat a dosa pan or a skillet.
- Spread 1 tsp butter or oil and pour a paddle full of besan batter on it.
- Spread it lightly over the pan and close the lid.
- Later on flip it on to the other side and roast till brown spots appear on it.
- Now transfer this tomato omelette on a serving plate.
Your fluffy and tasty tomato omelette is ready to be served.!!!
Kitchen Masti Points.
- As far as possible, try to use well ripened tomatoes that are very juicy.
- You can add 1 chopped garlic but it is optional.
- See to it that you do not spread the batter too much or else, the omelette will turn out too crispy.
- You can eat this omelette either with tomato sauce or coconut chutney.
- See to it that the omelette batter is not too watery.
