Malai Kofta is a rich side dish which goes on well with naan, kulchas chapathis and so on. It can be prepared during special occasions as it is one of the unique gravies prepared out of paneer .
There are numerous ways to prepare it. Here goes my recipe for Malai Kofta. I will be publishing another way to prepare the same after a few days.

How To Prepare Malai Kofta.
This gravy requires around 40 minutes .Ingredients For Koftas.
- Paneer ( cottage cheese) - 200 gms.
- Maida ( all purpose flour) - 2 tbsp.
- Green chillies - 4.
- Cooking soda - 1 tsp.
- Salt -1 tsp.
- Coriander leaves - 2 strings.
- Ghee or oil - 1 tsp.
Ingredients For The Gravy.
- Tomatoes - 3
- Onions - 1 large.
- Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp.
- Green chillies - 2.
- Çoriander seeds ( dhania seeds ) - 2 tsp.
- Cumin seeds ( jeera seeds ) - 1 tsp.
- Cashew nuts - 8.
- Poppy seeds ( khus - khus ) 1 tsp.
- Chilli powder - 1 tsp.
- Ghee or butter - 2 tbsp.
- Salt - as required.
- Garam Masala- 1 / 2 tsp
Method To Make Malai Kofta.
- Crumble paneer / cottage cheese in a bowl.
- Mix in maida, salt, cooking soda, chillies, and coriander leaves and knead well. Shape into balls.
- Heat oil in a deep pan or Kadai. Deep fry these paneer balls until it turns golden brown.
- Keep these paneer balls aside.
Method ,To Make Gravy.
- Heat a pan with oil in it. Add roughly chopped onion, tomatoes and fry for a few seconds.
- Now add coriander seeds, jeera seeds, khus - khus, and cashew nuts in it and fry for a minute on a medium flame.
- Switch off the fas and allow to cool for some time.
- Now take a mixer jar and grind these fried items into a smooth puree.
- Heat a pan with ghee in it.
- Add the grounded puree to it. Mix the chilli powder, garam masala, ginger garlic paste and salt in the gravy and fry well for a few seconds till the ghee is visible.
- Finally add fresh cream. Boil this for around 10 minutes in low flame only..
- Add koftas just before serving the gravy.
Your rich Malai kofta is ready to be served.!!!
Kitchen Masti Points.
- While frying koftas, you can add some vegetables along with paneer.
- You can omit garlic if you wish.
- Half tsp of sugar can also be added if desired.
