It has a high fiber content so people with constipation can use it generously It acts as a laxative. It reduces the blood sugar content also. Ladies undergoing menopause can use this more as it controls the menstrual flow. This vegetable when sliced tends to be sticky but of course this is very very helpful to our body..As far as possible see to it that this vegetable is roasted or boiled in slow flame or else it tcnds to loose its nutritional values very soon. How To Prepare Ladies Finger Pallya / Sabzi ( Okra ) or Sauteed Ladies Finger.
It takes hardly twenty minutes to make this dish. With the blow mentioned ingredients, you can ideally serve it to around 3 adultsIngredients For Ladies Finger Pallya
- Ladies Finger - half kg
- Salt as per taste
- Jeera / cumin seeds - half tsp
- Red chilli powder -1 tsp
- Turmeric powder - half tsp
- Oil - 2 tbsp
- Coriander leaves - a few strings
Method to make ladies Finger pallya / Sabzi.
- Wash the ladies finger thoroughly in the water.
- Chop and discard the top and bottom portion of the vegetable
- Now chop the vegetables into small pieces.
- Heat the pan, along with the oil.
- Once heated, add jeera / cummin seeds.
- Now add the chopped vegetable, turmeric powder and salt to it.
- Stir it and keep it frying.
- When roasted, add red chilli powder.
- Finally decorate it with coriander leaves.
Kitchen Masti Points
- After you finish washing the vegetables, see to it that the vegetables are properly dried or else it will turn very sticky.
- You can add also Garam Masala powder in to it if you wish.
- You can add chopped onions too, if you prefer.
- After the seasoning process, you can also add chopped finger sized fried potatoes and then continue the remaining process.
- Instead of tamarind paste, you can also add Dry Mango Powder ( Amchur Powder ) for a variation.
