Mango Juice is loved by one and all. In south India especially, in Karnataka, it is known as mango rasayana. This can be consumed either directly or even along with Neer Dosa, Puri, Biscuit Bonda, Plain Dosa and many other dishes.
Mango as we all know is also called as the King of Fruits.Mango also helps in fighting many types of cancer, helps in lowering the cholesterol level. However, some elders also recommend that mango should not be eaten in an empty stomach This is a seasonal fruit but you can have it throughout the year by following this tip. Peel the skin, smash the pulp and store it in an air tight container in the freezer only. Please note that it is not in the fridge section, but only in the freezer. Using this method, you can use mangoes throughout the year, irrespective of any season.
For this Mango Juice Recipe, you will have to use exclusively raspoori qualtiy mangoes, since you get the tangy taste only in this type of mangoes. Even though other mango varieties like alphonso etc have better taste while eating, I recommend you to use only Raspoori.

Kitchen Masti Points
- Alternatively , you can also prepare the mango milkshake by putting all the ingredients in the mixer jar and add alphonso mango pieces for a change, so that you can also feel the pieces of mango while you are relishing the mango drink.
- Instead of jaggery for rasayana, you can also add honey or sugar.
- If you are really health conscious, spare a few minutes and buy some mangoes, prepare its juice instead of buying the so called ready made aerated soft drinks that claim to be made from fresh mango fruits. Mango flavored soft drinks are not good for your health.
- However good this mango juice is, it is strictly not recommended if you are a diabetic patient. This is no point in not adding sugar or sugar like substances, since mango itself contains high level of glycemic index which is not at all meant for diabetic patients.
